About Staff
Ms. Ying-Hsi Chiu currently serves as Senior Research Director at STLI and is mainly responsible for planning and developing newly emerging legal and policy issues and projects related to digital economy or technology. Projects she participated in covered topics such as digital economic foresight, digital market and emerging market competition, personal data protection law, cultural technology, smart country, cloud computing, digital governance and so on.
Her major research fields are e-commerce law, personal data protection law and management systems, information law, consumer protection law, internet law, competition law and intellectual property law.
Ms. Ying-Hsi was seconded to the National Development Council (NDC) as Advisor of Regulatory Reform Center from 2022 to 2023. While she was in NDC，she was assisted in supervising matters related to the Personal data protection law，handled constitutional litigation and helped to planning and promote the establishment for the Preparatory office of the Personal Data Protection Commission . During the period that Ms. Ying-Hsi Chiu work at STLI, she has served as the Senior Manager, Director, Section Manager, Project Manager and Legal Researcher. She also has served as principal investigator (PI), Co-PI, Sub-PI, project leader and researcher of many research projects. Projects involved in 10 years are as follows:
